Bugsy
The sooty fawn doe who started it all! Not a good start as she was sold to me as a buck, and I brought her because I felt sorry for her as she had been in the pet shop for so long.
But what a character, at that time I thought bunnies were harmless balls of fur that sat quietly in a hutch, wrong, temper and tantrums at bedtime, teeth and possessiveness of the food bowl, coupled with cheek, character and attitude that I thought only people possessed.
She taught me how to care for her.
She had a little harness and came everywhere with me.
She would sit quietly on the passenger seat of my car, until I moved off, then she would throw all my belongings onto the floor and then hop across and sit on my lap, fine whilst I had an automatic, but when I changed to a manual she used to nip me every time I changed gear!
She also came in my lorry and would empty that passenger seat of all my belongings, and scared the living daylights out of a poor recovery man once, when he opened the door and looked up at her, he shut the door quick, looked around at me and said is it safe! all she did was look down her nose at him, she did try to 'help him out' when he climbed in though!
She used to torment and jump on the family cat.
But other then the teeth, tantrums, temper and launching at you at bed time, she was the softest, cuddliest and most affectionate animal I had ever known.
Due to her my bunny numbers increased.
they are all different, much like people,in character, friendliness and attitude. but most give a great deal of love and affection back. |
